PET-SITTING FAQ
Clear care standards before you book.
Answers about visits, cats, dogs, medication, access, emergencies and what happens next.
Are you insured?
Yes. Private Pet Sitting Services is insured. Proof of insurance can be provided directly when appropriate.
How long is one pet-sitting visit?
A single visit lasts from a brief essential check up to 30 minutes, based on the pet’s needs and the agreed care plan. It may include feeding, water, litter or potty care, medication, play, companionship, a visual wellness check and an update.
Can you visit my cat every day?
Yes. Daily cat visits are available and recommended. Cats are social animals despite the common stigma that they do not need company, and daily visits also make it possible to notice changes in appetite, litter habits, behavior or health.
Will you provide cat care every other day?
Yes. Christina strongly discourages every-other-day care because cats benefit from daily companionship and observation, but she will honor the informed preference of the pet parent when the arrangement can be provided safely.
Will you care for indoor-outdoor cats?
No. Indoor-outdoor cats are not accepted. Unrestricted outdoor access creates escape, injury, wildlife, traffic and accountability risks that cannot be safely controlled during a pet-sitting booking.
Can my dog receive only one visit per day?
Yes, only when another confirmed caregiver will provide the dog’s other period of care. A dog left alone for the entire day requires at least two visits.
Can you provide medication or intensive cat care?
Yes. Christina has cared for cats with ordinary daily routines through intensive, hands-on needs. Every medication, medical condition and special-care routine is reviewed individually before acceptance so expectations are safe and realistic.
Do you provide care in your own home?
No. Services are provided in the client’s home so pets can remain in their familiar environment. Private Pet Sitting Services does not offer boarding in Christina’s home.
Can you care for shy or anxious pets?
Yes. Shyness or anxiety does not automatically disqualify a pet. Christina will discuss triggers, boundaries and safe handling during screening and the meet-and-greet. A pet displaying unsafe aggression may not be accepted.
Can another person enter my home during the booking?
Yes, but every person who may enter or stay in the home must be disclosed in advance. Shared care can create confusion about feeding, doors, medication and responsibility, so each person’s role must be clear.
Will I receive updates after visits?
Yes. Photos and care updates are included so you know how your pets are doing.
Can you continue care if my return is delayed?
Yes, when contacted as soon as possible and continued service can be provided safely. Additional visits or nights are charged at the applicable rate and remain subject to availability.
Can you obtain veterinary care during an emergency?
Yes, when the required veterinary authorization, veterinarian details and emergency contact information have been provided. Christina will attempt to contact the pet parent and follow the agreed emergency plan.
Do you accept last-minute requests?
Yes, when availability allows and the required new-client screening and meet-and-greet can be completed. Established clients may be easier to accommodate on short notice.
Do you provide holiday care?
Yes, based on availability. Holiday pricing may apply and is confirmed before booking.
Is a complimentary meet-and-greet required?
Yes. Every new client completes a free 20-to-30-minute meet-and-greet at the pet’s home before the first confirmed booking.
Is Christina background checked and first aid trained?
Yes. Christina is Background Checked through Rover and Red Cross Cat & Dog First Aid Trained.
Does submitting an inquiry reserve my dates?
No. An inquiry requests availability. Dates are confirmed only after the request is accepted and the required meet-and-greet, agreement and payment steps are completed.
How much does pet sitting cost?
Meet & Greet is free. One visit per day is $28/day, two visits per day are $55/day, and three visits per day are $80/day. Visits are up to 30 minutes based on your pet’s individual care needs. Overnight care starts at $125/night. Distance, holidays, medication and special care may affect the final price.
